ODUNDE is the largest African American street festival in NORTH AMERICA, attracting up to 500,000 people every year. What began as a small community gathering has grown into a world-renowned celebration of African and African American culture.

Vendors from Around the World

ODUNDE attracts vendors not only from America, but from AROUND THE WORLD. The festival is an African Market Place brought to the streets of South Philadelphia -- a vibrant tapestry of authentic fabrics, handcrafted jewelry, music, and art.

Aromas, Flavors, and Soul

The air fills with the aromas of African, Caribbean, and Soul foods as hundreds of vendors from the African Diaspora celebrate the tradition of preserving culture. Philadelphia city blocks are transformed into a marketplace that leaves visitors in awe.

16 Blocks of Culture

The festival takes place at 23rd and South Street and surrounding areas, covering 16 city blocks on the second Sunday in June every year. Space is available on a first-come, first-served basis -- the best way to assure a prime spot is to get your fee in early.

Vendor Requirements

All vendors must have the following to participate.

Commercial Activity License

Required by the City of Philadelphia for all commercial vendors.

Apply for license

Liability Insurance

Proof of liability insurance must accompany your application.

Mandatory Meeting (Food Vendors)

FIRST-TIME FOOD VENDORS must attend a mandatory meeting with ODUNDE staff before the festival. Food vendors must call 267-320-4364 (10am – 4pm, Monday – Friday).

Space Requirement

If your entire set up is larger than the designated vending space (8ft wide x 4ft deep) you must purchase enough vending spaces to accommodate your entire setup.
